Campus of the 'AIPE Sports Academy'

The training programme at the Academy shall be conducted in two phases. In the first phase, a Coaching cum Scanning camp shall be held at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium, Sarusajai, Guwahati for a period of 10 (ten) days. As many as 100 nos of energetic and talented players of age 10/11 years to be picked up from different parts of Assam shall be trained up for 10 (ten) days at the said stadium by three renowned coaches. From the 100 nos of players only the best 30 (thirty) players shall be selected for the second phase of training by a selection committee, headed by Arjun Shri Bhogeswar Barua, Arjun Ms. Monalisha Baruah Mehta and Sri Abhijit Bhattacharjya, former captain of the Indian Volley Team to be constituted for the purpose. It is worth mentioning that Padmashree Milkha Singh has also consented to provide necessary help & guidance to make the training programme a grand success. The second phase of training shall continue for a long period of 5 (Five) years. The selected players shall be imparted vigorous training by three outstanding coaches to tap their potential fully. They will be exposed to most modern athletic techniques to be provided by an international coach, hired from a foreign country, for three times during the period of the second phase training.

The players and coaches including other officials will be accommodated at the campus of the Academy. The Academy shall have to take care of education of child talented players selected for the second phase. In fact, all expenses including their education, dress, food & lodging, transport etc. have to be borne by the Academy.

Subsequently, the training facility of the Academy shall be extended to the sports talents of other states of the NE Region.
